We Tried Everything in These Low Sugar, Better-for-You Snack Bundles and Didn’t Sugarcoat Our Review.

Most everyone would like to drop a few pounds, clear up their skin, or just feel better. And most everyone knows cutting sugar out of the diet will help with that. The problem is sweet, salty snacks are awesome. If raw broccoli stepped its game up to say, chocolate chip cookie level…everyone would eat it — problem solved.

But alas, healthy food just doesn’t taste as good junk food… or so we thought. HighKey is on a mission to change all that. With over 50,000 happy customer reviews on Amazon along with praise from The Oprah Magazine, PopSugar, USA Today, and Forbes, High Key’s mission appears to be a success. Still, we were skeptical of the keto-friendly, sugar-free, grain-free snacks. So naturally, we ordered all of their snack bundles to see for ourselves.

Below is our honest review of HighKey’s top selling snacks and the bundles they come in:

Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies

Rating: 10/10

From Bundle: The Cookie Monster Bundle

HighKey’s Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies were the unanimous favorite among our critics. They’re made with almond flour which gives them a crisp, crumbly bite, similar to Famous Amos. They also have the perfect amount of sweetness without any of the artificial sweetener taste that’s so common in “low-sugar” treats. Even our most difficult-to-please critics couldn’t get enough. Our only critique is that we ran out of them too fast.

Caramel Clusters

Rating: 9.5/10

From Bundle: The Chocolate Lovers Bundle

The Caramel Clusters were almost too good to be true. They’re richer than the cookies (more like a candy), and we were blown away by the caramel. HighKey somehow figured out how to make low-sugar caramel with the gooey feel of caramel from a candy store. Combined with the chocolate and the nuts, these are nearly indistinguishable from a Snickers bar, and just as easily satisfy a sweet tooth craving. So with only 4 net carbs, you can’t go wrong. Our only critique is that we would have liked to try one with peanuts.

Snickerdoodle Mini Cookies

Rating: 9.7/10

From Bundle:  The Cookie Craver Bundle

A traditional snickerdoodle is basically a sugar cookie rolled in cinnamon and sugar… which is a LOT of sugar. Highkey nailed that sweet cinnamon flavor in their Snickerdoodle Mini Cookies, but with zero added sugar. These are slightly softer and more crumbly than the other mini cookie flavors, but they still have a very pleasant crunch to them. When we finished the bag, we used the sweet cinnamon crumbs as an ice cream topping and suggest you do the same. Our only critique is that we would have liked to have a full-sized cookie to bite into because the texture was that good.

Almond Flour Crackers

Rating: 9.2/10

From Bundle: The Ultimate Craver Bundle

Not every snack that HighKey makes is sweet – they also make addictive Almond Flour Crackers. Anyone that has tried low-carb crackers knows that they aren’t usually satisfying. Typically, they’re chalky or way too crumbly, or both. So we were pleased to bite into these light, crispy crackers. Although we didn’t reach a consensus on which flavor was better (cheddar vs. sea salt), both flavors were delicious and would certainly satisfy any salty, crunchy craving. We didn’t have any critiques per se, but a sour cream and onion flavor would be warmly welcomed.

Soft Baked Mini Treats

Rating: 8.75/10

From Bundle: The Sweet Tooth Bundle

The Soft Baked Mini Treats from HighKey come in three tasty flavors: blueberry, banana nut, and birthday cake. The two-bite treats fall somewhere between a muffin and a scone, and have a subtle, natural-tasting fruit flavor. We especially loved the crunch in the banana nut flavor, but the birthday cake flavor, complete with rainbow sprinkles, tasted like childhood nostalgia. Our only critique is that they’re a bit more dense than a standard muffin.

The Kitchen Critic Critique:

While HighKey’s better-for-you snacks are slightly pricier than their sugar-packed counterparts, you get what you pay for. These low-carb, no-sugar-added snacks not only taste fantastic, they’re made with the best-quality ingredients and can satisfy any craving.
