Not only did Taylor rave about it (calling it “the best birthday cake she ever had”), but apparently so did the likes of entertainment royalty like Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Selena Gomez. 

“Our kitchen really lost it when Karlie Kloss gifted Taylor Swift a giant birthday cake and we saw a picture of it on Instagram,” said Milk Bar Founder and head chef Christina Tosi, in an interview with Bloomberg. 

But to be clear, this isn’t the first time the iconic cake has attracted the celebrity eye. Seth Rogen and Dakota Fanning have come in to learn how to bake the cake themselves at one of Milk Bar’s classes, and Chrissy Teigen famously made her own version at home. She was allegedly so proud of how her “semi-nude” cake looked she wouldn’t let anyone take a bite and ruin it (we get it). 

“I tried @milkbarstore – MUCH RESPECT,” Tiegen wrote on Twitter. “I will leave this to you in the future.”

Okay, so why is everyone in love with this cake? 

The best way to describe it is if a wedding cake and a kid’s birthday cake had a baby. The buttercream frosting is one of Milk Bar’s signature items, containing all the cream of a standard frosting, but still a little fluffier than a typical wedding cake.
